Dynamic QR Code Generator

A normal QR code has the destination baked into the ink — change your mind, and you reprint. A dynamic one encodes a short link on our domain instead, so you can repoint it after it is already on ten thousand flyers. Most sites that offer this charge a monthly fee on top of the account. Here the account is free too.

What actually makes it "dynamic"

Generate a code here — no account needed for that part. Making it dynamic takes one more step: sign in (or create a free account) and save it, rather than just downloading it. Once it is saved, the printed pattern encodes a short redirect URL on this domain instead of your destination directly. Scan it, and our server looks up the current destination and sends the browser there — which means the destination is a database row you can update, not ink you cannot.

This only works for URL and social-profile codes. A Wi-Fi, vCard, SMS or Bitcoin code has no browser to redirect — those save fine, but the printed pattern always carries the real payload, and there is nothing to repoint later.

The trade you are making

A dynamic code depends on this site staying online — a static code does not. That is a real trade-off, not a hidden one: for a one-off flyer where the destination will never change, encode the URL directly and skip this. For anything printed in volume, mounted somewhere permanent, or likely to need a new destination before the artwork does, editability is worth more than that dependency.

The redirect also logs every scan by device type and country, shown on your dashboard, at no extra step — saving a dynamic code and getting analytics are the same action.

What gets encoded

https://cloudqrgen.com/r/8f3ac1

A short redirect URL, not your real destination — that is what makes it editable. The server resolves it to the current destination on every scan and 302s the browser there.

Only URL and social codes are trackable/editable; other types save but stay static once printed.
Sign in before saving — you can generate and download a code with no account, but only a signed-in save becomes dynamic.
Keep the destination page itself under your control, so the edit is ever worth making.

Questions

Do I need an account to make a dynamic QR code?

Yes, and it is free. Generating and downloading a plain QR code needs no account at all. Making one dynamic — editable and trackable after printing — needs a free sign-in, because that is what lets you come back later and prove which code is yours to repoint. There is no paid tier for it; the account itself is the only extra step.

What happens to codes I already printed if I change the destination?

They keep working. The printed pattern encodes the redirect link, not the destination, so updating the destination in your dashboard changes where every already-printed copy sends people — without a reprint.

Can I make a Wi-Fi or vCard code dynamic?

You can save one, but it will not become editable-after-print. Only URL and social-profile codes redirect through our server; every other type is decoded straight from the printed pattern, so there is nothing on our end to update.
